Your information, explained

Privacy Policy

Squiro is built to keep your links organized—not to turn your library into an advertising profile. This policy explains what we handle, why we need it, and the choices you have.

Plain language, written for the way Squiro actually works.

01

Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies when you use the Squiro mobile applications, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). Salih Fırat Şimşek operates Squiro and is the controller responsible for the personal information described here.

It does not govern websites, apps, or content that you save or open through Squiro. Those third parties apply their own privacy policies to their services.

02

Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information created as you use the Service, and limited information received from providers you choose to use.

CategoryWhat it includes
Account and profile

Your email address, optional name and profile photo, verification status, and an identifier from Google or Apple if you use social sign-in. Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes, not readable plain text.

Your library

Saved and resolved URLs, titles, descriptions, preview images, source platform, collections, tags, collection thumbnails, timestamps, and sharing settings.

Purchases

Product, store, subscription status, renewal and expiry information, and transaction identifiers supplied by RevenueCat, Apple, or Google. Squiro does not receive your full payment-card details.

Usage analytics

An internal account identifier, locale, plan status, app lifecycle events, and actions such as creating or organizing items. Event properties may include numeric item or collection identifiers and counts, but not your saved URLs, titles, tags, or photos.

Technical and support

App version, operating system or device type, network and request information used for delivery, security, and rate limiting, plus messages and attachments you send to support.

Good to know

No ads, no session replay, no content analytics

Squiro does not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising. PostHog session replay and automatic interaction capture are disabled.

03

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and secure your account, authenticate you, and sync your library.
  • Save, organize, search, display, and restore your links and collections.
  • Visit a saved public URL from our servers to retrieve its title, description, preview image, source, and final destination after redirects.
  • Process, restore, and reconcile Free and Pro access.
  • Understand feature adoption, diagnose problems, and improve the Service.
  • Respond to support requests and protect against abuse or security threats.
  • Comply with legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.

When Squiro retrieves link metadata, the destination website receives an ordinary server request and may process it under its own privacy policy. Metadata retrieval can fail, and you can still save the URL without complete preview information.

04

Sharing and service providers

We disclose information only as needed to operate the Service, complete an action you request, protect Squiro, or comply with law. Our main provider categories are:

Hosting and storage
Railway and Neon support the API and database; Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded profile and collection images.
Authentication and email
Apple and Google support optional sign-in; Resend delivers verification and password-reset messages.
Subscriptions
Apple, Google, and RevenueCat process purchases and provide entitlement and renewal information.
Product analytics
PostHog’s EU service processes the limited usage events described above.

These providers may process information in countries other than yours. We require them to protect personal information consistently with their contracts and applicable law. Information may also be disclosed in response to a valid legal request or as part of a business transfer, with legally required notice and safeguards.

When you share

A shared collection is available to anyone with its link

If collection sharing is enabled, its name and saved items can be viewed without an account by anyone who has the private share link. Disable sharing or rotate the link to stop an old link from working.

05

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including under Türkiye’s Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data and other applicable privacy laws, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about processing; object to certain uses; withdraw consent; or complain to a competent authority.

You can edit much of your profile and library directly in Squiro. For other requests, email support@getsquiro.com from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already performed lawfully.

06

Retention and account deletion

We generally keep account information and your library while your account remains active or as needed to provide the Service. Security records and subscription information may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or another legal obligation.

Delete your Squiro account

Request deletion from the email on your account.

Email us with the subject “Delete my Squiro account.” After identity verification, we will delete or de-identify your account and associated library, tags, collections, uploaded images, and active share links within the period required by applicable law.

Request account deletion

Deleting Squiro does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel the subscription in your store account to prevent future renewal. Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups or where retention is legally required; they will not be used for ordinary product purposes.

07

Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS in transit, cryptographic password and token hashing, access controls, short-lived authentication credentials, and restricted upload formats. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Squiro and its providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for those transfers.

08

Children’s privacy

Squiro is a general-audience productivity service and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age at which a person may consent to online services in their location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information without valid permission, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

09

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Squiro, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights.
